Project RX started as a task force in April of last year. After a period of refining its design and gameplay, it was promoted to RX Studio on August 1 this year. Cha Minseo, who oversaw Blue Archive's Korean and global service, serves as the studio's PD, and YutokaMizu, who handled Blue Archive's character design and illustration, is the art director.
What kind of game is it
Project RX is a subculture game about bonding with characters through immersive storytelling. Its hallmark is daily-life content enjoyed alongside charming characters, with the goal of bringing a vivid world and cast to life through Unreal Engine 5's high-quality 3D graphics.
The new IO Division
In a recent company-wide reorganization, NEXON Games founded the IO Division, dedicated to subculture game development. It houses MX Studio, which runs Blue Archive's live development, and RX Studio, which develops Project RX. Executive PD Kim Yongha heads the division, overseeing both Blue Archive and Project RX.
"Project RX is a subculture game where the player and the characters face everyday problems and adventures together, building up memories along the way," said RX Studio PD Cha Minseo. "Building on the know-how we accumulated through developing and operating Blue Archive, we will deliver a game that offers a new kind of play experience."
